Sister Edith Marie Hauser, 93, died October 30, 2020, in the Dominican Sisters’ convent infirmary, Great Bend. She was born January 19, 1927, in Nashville, KS, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Schnittker) Hauser. She entered the Dominican Sisters Community in 1943 and pronounced vows in 1946. Sister Edith Marie ministered as an educator, serving as teacher and/or principal from 1946-2010. At that time she retired at the motherhouse in Great Bend.
Sister Edith was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by one sister, Angela Scantlin, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as the Dominican Sisters of Peace.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Monday, November 2. A Vigil Service will be held Sunday, November 1, at 7:00 PM. Both will take place at the Sisters’ Convent. Burial will be in the Sisters’ Resurrection Cemetery.
