TMP-Marian Monarchs 18U swept at Larned

LARNED - The TMP-Marian Monarchs 18U baseball team was swept on the road by Larned Thursday night. Larned rallied for a 10-2 win in game one then took the second contest 10-2.

The Monarchs (6-4) led the opener 7-2 before Larned scored five in the fourth to tie the game, then after TMP scored a run in the top of the fifth to take the lead back, Larned answered with two in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good.

Mason Robbins had two of TMP's six hits and drove in two runs.

Nick Helget pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief, giving up three runs on four hits and took the loss.

Larned won game one despite committing eight errors.

Larned scored six in the second to go up 7-0 in the second game.

Jace Wentling had two of the Monarchs four hits, both were doubles and he drove in a run.

Mason Robbins allowed five runs on five hits over 1 2/3 inings took the loss.

After winnings five straight, the Monarchs have dropped three of their last four. They host the Salina Eagles Saturday in a five o’clock doubleheader at the TMP-Marian Field.
