Strong southwest winds and extremely low humidity will lead to an increased risk of wildfires Sunday, the National Weather Service in Dodge City reported.
Hays remains just to the east of a fire weather watch.
There is a slight chance of rain in the early morning hours Saturday, which will top out in the mid- to upper-50s.
On Sunday, the mercury will jump into the low-70s for a high, with sustained winds of 15 to 22 mph and gusts more than 30 mph.
By Tuesday night, a slight chance of rain or snow returns and highs will be around 40 degrees through the work week.
