A public hearing will be at 4 p.m. on Feb. 19 by the Hays Area Planning Commission to consider amendments to the&nbsp;extraterritorial jurisdiction future land use map.

In November 2021, the city of Hays and Ellis County reduced the extraterritorial jurisdiction by about 60 percent, allowing for logical and orderly development to occur as Hays continues to grow in accordance with the city’s comprehensive plan and future land use map.&nbsp;

Other agenda items include: • Discussion of Planning Commission/Board of Zoning Appeals organization and future board structure&nbsp; • Update on the&nbsp;2024 street maintenance projects &nbsp;
