The early spring rain in Hays continued a second day, adding another 0.23 inches on Wednesday.
According to the official report from the K-State Agricultural Research Center, Hays has received 4.69 inches of moisture so far this month, nearly four times the 152-year cumulative average for March of 1.25 inches.
The yearly total is also above average, with 5.48 inches of moisture received as of March 24, compared to 2.46 inches by March 31.
The weekly Kansas Drought Monitor released Thursday currently shows no drought for Ellis County (3 down, 5 right from upper left county on map).
Drought conditions in far western Kansas range from severe drought to abnormally dry.
The three-day weather forecast calls for sunshine and warmer temperatures.
