Sharron J. Brown, 81, of Janesville, passed away on March 12, 2021, at her residence. Sharron was born on May 24, 1939 in Larned, KS, to Howard and Norma Zook. She is the oldest of 7 and grew up on a dairy farm in Rozel, KS. She married Mason A. Brown on April 25, 1960 at Raton, N.M. and had 1 daughter, Adel Ostrom. They moved to Great Bend in 1966. She worked for USD #428 Central Kitchen as a baker until she retired.
Sharron was an avid sewer and quilter. She belonged to several quilt guilds and sewing groups over the years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She loved to go camping with her husband and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Survivors include her daughter, Adel Ostrom and husband Curtis of Mt. Holly, NC; a granddaughter, Brandi Johnson and husband Mike of Janesville, WI; a grandson, Blaine Ostrom and wife Valarie of Owingsville, KY; three sisters, Dolly Hagerty, Carmen Franz, and Zella Sanner; three brothers, Mark, Mike, and Ben; and eight great-grandchildren, Tamera (Richard), Mason, James, Kaytlin, and Alexis Johnson and Courtney, Kelsey, and Christian Ostrom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mason A. Brown, and her parents, Howard and Norma Zook.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday March 18, 2021, at Central Baptist Church in Great Bend with pastor John Grummon officiating. Graveside services will follow at Zook Cemetery in Zook. Friends may visit from 1-9 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in care of the Bryant funeral home.
