GOVE COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 1:30p.m. Thursday in Gove County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Ford passenger vehicle driven by Edward J. Miller, 55, Joplin, Missouri, was  westbound in the driving lane on Interstate 70 just west of the Park exit.

The vehicle rear-ended a 2014 Volvo passenger vehicle driven by Ryan C. Rairden, 38, Leavenworth.

The impact caused the Ford to spin out and come to rest in the median. The Volvo pulled over to the shoulder.

EMS transported passengers in the Ford Stephanie A. Miller, 52, and Tessa P. Miller, 17, both of Joplin to Gove County Medical Center. Rairden and Edward Miller were not injured. The 17-year-old was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
