The Liberal Tradition at Alnwick Castle is a two-week study abroad opportunity run by FHSU that gives students the opportunity to read philosophy and economic theory at the famed Alnwick Castle in England. The program fee for students is currently $4,275. This program fee does not include round trip airfare or tuition cost for the required companion course (POLS 675VA Seminar: The Liberal Tradition).

To help students afford this great study abroad opportunity, the Department of Communication Studies, Law, and Political Science is partnering with FHSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences to offer matching scholarships: any major of the College is eligible to receive $500 from the Department, which will be matched by the College for a total of $1,000. Eligible students do not need to be a major or minor of the Department (but must be a major within the College). For students who are majoring in Political Science or Communication Studies, an additional scholarship is available to cover the cost of obtaining a passport. We encourage students to seek out other scholarships that can go toward the cost of the program.
