GREAT BEND - The Hays High girls tennis teams edged Dodge City by two points (21-19) to win Tuesday's Great Bend Invitational.
The Indians Morgan Shorb went 3-0 and won No. 1 singles. Shorb defeated Laura Daniel of Great Bend (8-3), Ella McNett of Larned (8-5) and Andrea Morales of Dodge City (8-6).
The No. 2 Doubles team of Mallory Henderson and Jersey Johnson also went 3-0 and finished first. They defeated Tania Molina/Danica Stickland (8-5), Arianna Hemken/Breanna Hemken (8-3) and Olivia Buddy/Annicka Henderson of Dodge City (8-4).
The No. 1 doubles team of Caroline Robben and Sage Zweifel went 2-1 and finished runner-up. They defeated Samantha Mayers/Taylor Lashley of Great Bend (8-5) and Kathryn Holt/Abby Holt of Larned (8-4) before losing 8-4 to Becca Unruh and Michaela Mink of Dodge City.
Allyson Werth finished 0-3 at No. 2 Singles.
