Brian P. Schartz, 61, passed away on September 30, 2021, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital, Manhattan, Kansas.
Brian was born on December 2nd, 1959, in Ellinwood, Kansas to Mark and Betty Schartz. He grew up on the family farms in Ellinwood and Cimarron, Kansas. He graduated from Cimarron High School in 1977.
Brian was a hard worker and was engaged in farming his entire life. He loved taking his grandkids on the tractor any chance he could. Brian was a friend to many and will truly be missed.
Survivors include: two daughters, Stacey McGinley, Wichita and Megan Schartz, Dodge City; two brothers, David Schartz, Garden City and Stephen (Sara) Schartz, Cimarron; four sisters, Marian Reynolds, Pittsburg, Donna Woods, Cimarron, Bernice (David) Rebein, Dodge City and Rita (Bill) Hommertzheim, Cimarron; one sister-in-law, Pam Schartz, Corinth, TX; three grandchildren, Mason, Alyjah and Austin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by: his parents, one brother, Carl Schartz, and one brother-in-law, Rusty Woods.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 11, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with a Vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Belpre Catholic Cemetery following the service.
