The Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting announces its Student of the Year Awards for the 2023-2024 academic year for each major in the department: accounting, finance, and international business and economics. Students graduating in the 2023-2024 academic year were eligible to receive this award. The faculty from each discipline selected the award recipients.
Anna Brull is the 2023-2024 Accounting Student of the Year Award recipient. Anna will graduate with her B.B.A. degree with majors in accounting and finance in May 2024. She is from Hays and graduated from Hays High School. Anna has accepted an accounting analyst position with Koch Industries in Wichita after graduation.
David Schulte is the 2023-2024 Finance Student of the Year Award recipient. David graduated with his B.B.A. degree with a major in finance with a concentration in economics in December 2023. He also completed a minor in banking and the Kansas Insurance Certificate. He is from Sedgwick and graduated from Halstead High School. David is working for the FDIC in Hays.
The 2023-2024 International Business and Economics Award recipient is Luciana Mendoza. Luciana will graduate with her B.B.A. degree in international business and economics in May 2024. She is from Lambare, Paraguay. Luciana will begin a full-time position as a business specialist with the FHSU Global Affairs Office after graduation.
