Bernard G. “Bernie” Rupp, 64, Hays, died Sunday, April 10, 2022, at McPherson Health and Rehab.
He was born June 8, 1957, in Hays, the son of Charles M. and Viola F. “Ollie” (Dinkel) Rupp. For over 45 years he was an over-the-road truck driver. On October 25, 1975, he was united in marriage to Sharon Braun in Victoria. Bernie was hardworking, cared for his family, and had a genuine love and concern for everyone in his life. He lived every day with gratitude and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his mother Ollie Rupp of Hays, a son: BJ Rupp and wife Dena of Hays, a daughter: Danielle Bornholdt and husband John of Hutchinson, a brother: Vernon Rupp and wife Mellisa of Kansas City, MO, and three grandchildren: Laine Werth, Kinley Rupp, and Madisyn Rupp.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles and his sister Deborah Ann Marie “Debbie” Rupp.
Bernie’s family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. A rosary will be at 10:45 am, and private family inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
