The Ellis County Sheriff's Office stopped 68 vehicles and issued 18 citations with one arrested during the annual Click It or Ticket campaign.
According to the sheriff’s office, officers wrote 10 safety belt violations, three speeding tickets and five other citations during the campaign, which ran from May 18 to 30.
In a press release Ellis County Sheriff Scott Braun said, “We are here to enforce Kansas traffic laws and ultimately, to decrease unsafe driving behavior. If you were stopped, we hope you learned from the experience. If so, we have made the roads a little safer for you and those your share the road with. We will continue to do that because, while the 2022 Click It or Ticket campaign may be over, traffic enforcement never is.”
The annual Click It or Ticket campaign raises awareness of the importance of everyone buckling up in a vehicle.
