McPHERSON – The Hill City boys golf team shot rounds of 310 and 318 and won the 1A State Golf Tournament by nine strokes over South Gray at the Turkey Creek Golf Course. Hodgeman County finished third (661). Ellis shot a 353 in Tuesday's first round and missed advancing to the final round by three strokes.

Kenley Gugleman led Hill City with rounds of 75 and 72 and tied for fourth place at 7-over. The Ringnecks had medalists in the top-20. AJ Deges placed seventh (76, 80) and Chase Bell tied for 17th (78, 85).

Victoria’s Aiden Dinkel made the cut after shooting an 88 in Tuesday’s first round. He closed with a 93 in Wednesday's final round tied for 37th place.

Owen Richards led Ellis with rounds of 88 and 96 and finished 39th.
