JoAnn Marie (Dinkel) Miller, age 82, of Hays, Kansas died Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney, Kansas.
She was born December 10, 1938, in rural Graham county Kansas to Henry and Josephine (Gerstner) Dinkel. She married Donald J. “Donnie” Miller on January 9, 1960, in Hays, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2012.
She owned and operated The Children’s Exchange clothing store in the 1980s and 1990s for over 10 years. She enjoyed making crafts and selling her items at many craft fairs. JoAnn was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays and a former member of the altar society. She enjoyed reading sewing, gardening and going to the casinos.
Survivors include her son, Scott Miller and wife, Brianne, Lawrence, KS; two brothers, Leroy Dinkel, Morland, KS; Danny Dinkel, Bismarck, ND; two sisters, Rose Zerr, Quinter, KS; Arlene Fickel, Gunnison, CO; and three sisters-in-law, Eunice Ann Dinkel, Garden City, KS; Patricia Schmidtberger, Victoria, KS; and Wanda, Miller, Hays, KS.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 4, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 215 W. 13th Street, Hays, Kansas with celebrant Father Rich Daise. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Saturday, at the church.
