NEW ORLEANS - The Fort Hays State women's cross country team moved up to 20th in this week's release of the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II National Coaches' Poll, announced Wednesday by the coaches association.

The Tigers jumped one spot in the polls after sitting at No. 21 in each of the last two sets of rankings. FHSU managed 79 points in the balloting process this week, up from 76 a week ago.

Fort Hays State picked up its third-consecutive victory last weekend, placing first at the ESU Invitational with a perfect team score of 15. The Tigers are yet to lose to a non-DI team, finishing fourth overall behind three Division I programs at the JK Gold Classic before emerging victorious at the FHSU Tiger Open, the Gans Creek Classic and the ESU Invitational.

The Tigers moved up to fifth in the Central Region, while FHSU remains the third-highest ranked MIAA program. Pittsburg State jumped six spots to move to No. 10, while Nebraska-Kearney dipped three spots to No. 17.Fort Hays State will face off with the rest of the conference next weekend (Oct. 26) when they travel to St. Joseph, Mo. for the 2024 MIAA Championships. The women's six-kilometer championship race is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
