
Stanley Wilber, 88, of Leavenworth, died Sunday, March 27, 2022. He was
born May 2, 1933, in Weston, Mo., to Philanthropy and Lena (Large)
Wilber.
On Aug. 9, 1952, Stanley married Helen Thomas in Leavenworth, Kan. She
preceded him in death March 25, 2005. Stanley later married Wilma Cook
in June 2006, she preceded him in death in January 2020. He was also
preceded in death by his parents.
Stanley is survived by four daughters, Sandra Becker and Susan Collins
both of Leavenworth, Sheryl Parker of DeSoto, Kan., and Sindy (Rick)
Page of Leavenworth; four step-children, Rick Howard of Raymore, Mo.,
Randy (Sherry) Howard of Nesbit, Miss., Russell Howard of Kansas City,
Mo., and Kim (Rob) Perez of Hays, Kan.; a brother, Clarence of
Leavenworth; a sister, Bonnie Ruebhausen of Leavenworth; eight
grandchildren, Chris Wood Sr., Andrew Thompson, Nathan Walters,
Matthew Thompson, Tamara Bryant, Alyssa Walters, Meghan Tilson and
Kendra Walters; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild
on the way.
He enjoyed fishing, photography and playing guitar. Stanley will be greatly missed by his family.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2022, at the
R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens
Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
