⚾ Monarchs cruise past Sacred Heart, remain unbeaten

HAYS – The TMP-Marian baseball team celebrated Senior Night with a pair of wins over Sacred Heart. The Monarchs won game one 11-1 in five innings then took game two 10-0 in six innings. TMP remains unbeaten at 20-0 and will play at the Diamond Classic at Hays High School starting on Friday.

Game 1: TMP-Marian 11, Sacred Heart 1 (5 innings)
Ty Schmeidler remained hot at the plate with a home run and four RBIs. Ian Nehls added a pair of doubles and drove in four as the Monarchs scored in every inning of the run-rule win.

Nehls got the Monarchs on the board in the first with an RBI single. TMP added four in the second on Nehls bases loaded double. Grant Nehls drove in the final run on a single to left field.

Connor Breit had an RBI single in the third to push the lead to 6-0.

After the Knights scored a run in the fourth, TMP blew the game open with four in the bottom of the inning on Schmeidler’s second grand slam of the season.

Logan Baalmann gave up one run on two hits over 4 1/3 innings and picked up the win

Game 2: TMP-Marian 10, Sacred Heart 0 (6 innings)
The Monarchs scored at least one run in every inning but one.

Logan Baalman started the scoring with an RBI single in the first. Ian Nehls single down the left field line made it 2-0 in the second. The Monarchs added two runs in the third on a Jacob Seib double.

Caden Dinkel earned the win, allowing five hits over five innings with three strikeouts and no walks.
