Cheryl Kathleen (Yoke) Brown, 79, died June 3, 2024 at her home in Goodland, KS.
She was born February 18, 1945 in Wichita, KS. She graduated from Wichita West High School in 1963. She worked as a lab technician in hospitals in Newton and Dodge City, KS as well as in Santa Rosa, California, later relocating to Northern California where she became a professional musician. She played piano and keyboards along the California coast as a solo act and with various bands. She was also an artist, quilt maker and cat lover.
She is survived by her children, daughter Kim (Brown) Hamel of El Dorado, KS; son Chris Brown of Clearlake, CA; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Lily Hamel; brother David Yoke of Phoenix, AZ; and sister-in-law Janice Yoke, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dewey A. Yoke and Gladys Ann (Abbott) Yoke Minkler; brothers Dewey “Don” Yoke, Joe Yoke, and Kenneth Yoke, and sisters-in-law Evelyn Yoke and Wilma Yoke.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM MT at Koons-Russell Funeral Home in Goodland, KS with Pastor Don Warren officiating.
