The Hays USD 489 school board will discuss planned renovations at Roosevelt Elementary School at its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Rockwell Administration Center.
As part of a $143.5 million bond issue, the district will make Roosevelt a five-section elementary school. It has three sections.
The school will have a capacity of 690 students once the renovations are complete.
The district plans to close Lincoln Elementary School and convert Wilson Elementary School into administrative offices. Hays Middle School will be renovated into an elementary school. O'Loughlin Elementary School will remain a three-section elementary school.
The Roosevelt renovation will include a separate gym and cafeteria, which will allow more freedom in scheduling considering the increase in the number of students who will need gym classes.
