The Kansas Department of Transportation has reopened both directions of I-70 between WaKeeney and Russell. The interstate was previously closed because of whiteout conditions and crashes blocking the driving lanes.
Accumulating snowfall and strong winds are continuing to cause snow-packed and icy roadways. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
