Robert Dale Howard, 66, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020, at his home in Amarillo, Texas. He was born July 10, 1954, in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Bobby and Helen (Nickerson) Howard. He was united in marriage to Jane Johnson on October 9, 1977. They later divorced.
Robert was a longtime resident of Great Bend, Kansas before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2005 and Amarillo, Texas in 2016. Robert worked for Snap-On Tools, before becoming a truck driver and then the manager of Wonderland RV Park. Robert enjoyed hunting and sports, but what he loved the most, was spending time with family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include, a son, Bart Howard and wife Brooke of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Darrell Howard and wife Donna of Cottonwood, Arizona, and Russell Howard and wife Ramona of Larned, Kansas; three sisters, Elizabeth Rahm and husband David of Cottonwood, Arizona, Barbara Weber of Okeene, Oklahoma, Sharon Poirior and husband Paul of Wichita, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Hadley, Jax and Cohen Howard of Amarillo, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Mason Howard.
Cremation has taken place and the family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
