
James Edward Trumbo, 81, was born August 4, 1939, in Chula, Missouri, the third child to Maurice A. and Lucile (Sandy) Trumbo.
James graduated from Boulder High School in 1958. He worked for the
Bureau of Reclamation as an Engineer Lab Technician Investigation for
dams in California and Norton, KS. In 1968 he graduated with a BS Degree
in Accounting from Walla Walla University in Washington. He earned a
CPA Certificate in 1972. He worked in Oregon, California, Kansas,
Nebraska, Colorado, and New Mexico.
James was a certified instructor in Disaster Preparedness. He was an
amateur radio operator from 1972 until 2007. He worked for Nelson
Farms, Inc. of Long Island, KS for sixteen years until his retirement in
2005 due to health concerns.
James was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, lastly of Norton, KS. He was an elder and treasurer from 1968-2017.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, of fifty-four
years, Joyce (Whitney) Trumbo; sister, Marcia Babbit; brother-in-law,
Egon Boettcher.
James is survived by his three sons; Timothy (Tema) Trumbo of Saint
Francis, KS, Richard (Kerrie) Trumbo of Callaway, NE and Steven Trumbo
of Salina, KS; sister, Arlene Boettcher of Tennessee; sister-in-law,
Beth (Whitney) Lee of Norton, KS; ten grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
