Maryann E. Racette, age 85, of Oakley, KS died at Logan County Senior Living on July 1, 2020.
She was born April 17, 1935, in rural Sheridan
County, KS to Levi and Margaret (Tremblay) Ribordy. Maryann married Luke
A Racette on January 25, 1954, in Grainfield, KS. To this union, eight children were born, Kathy (Ed) Wolak, Goodland, KS. William, Oakley,
Lori (Phil) Collins, Grinnell, KS, Kennan (Konnie) Racette, Oakley,
Greg, Donella (Randy) Younkin, Oakley, Darren (Lisa) Racette,
Grainfield, KS, Rocky (Aida) Racette, Oakley.
Maryann was a homemaker who loved her family dearly. She loved the
weekly Sunday dinners when the whole family would get together and after
lunch the clan would go fishing. Maryann was a member of Immaculate
Conception Parish in Grinnell where she taught religion classes for many
years. Most recently she belonged to St. Josephs Parish in Oakley.
She was preceded in death by her husband Luke; son Greg; son-in-law Ed Wolak and twin grandsons, Tobby and Tanner.
She is survived by her children listed above; sister Rita
Truetken-Huffman, of St Louis, MO; 21 Grandchildren; 44 Great
Grandchildren, and 2 Great, Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm, Sunday, July 5th, 2020
at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Oakley with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m.
Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2020, also at the
church. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Catholic
Cemetery, in Grinnell, KS.
