A wide swath of snowstorms blanketed western Kansas on Tuesday, dropping 27 inches of snow in Weskan in Wallace County.
Hays was at the far eastern edge of the system with 1.5 inches, according to the K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town. Moisture content was 0.14 inches.
January has been a dry month with 0.52 inches of moisture measured to date from 6.5 inches of snow.
Temperatures will gradually warm up this week into the low 40s by Friday.
