HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State Men's Soccer had 10 of its players named to the D2CCA All-Central Region Team for the 2025 season on Tuesday (Nov. 25). The Tigers had five first-team and five second-team selections this year. Elias Ovelar Semeniuk highlights the group as the Central Region Player of the Year, becoming the fifth Tiger in program history to claim the honor and first since 2021. The ten selections are the most to a D2CCA all-region team in FHSU men's soccer program history.

Earning first-team honors were Ovelar Semeniuk as a forward, Payton Roehrich as a goalkeeper, Tadhg Walsh as a midfielder, Juan Linares as a forward, and Dimitry Tchantcheu as a defender. Second-team honors went to Bastian Carlman as a forward, Joseph Street as a midfielder, Harrison Bensouda as a midfielder, Mamadou Oumar Ndiaye as a defender, and Oliver Wright as a defender.

Ovelar Semeniuk adds to his Player of the Year collection after being named the GAC/MIAA Offensive Player of the Year. The award was voted on before FHSU entered the NCAA Tournament when he ranked third nationally in goals scored (14) and seventh in points (32). He pushed his goal total up a notch after scoring in the 3-0 win over Indianapolis in the Second Round, now ranking second nationally. Now with 34 points, he ranks fifth nationally. Ovelar Semeniuk was the GAC/MIAA leader in goals, points, game-winning goals, shots, and shots on goal in the regular season. He joins Mauricio Castorino (2015), Derick Gonzalez (2017), Santiago Agudelo (2018 & 2019), and Taisei Arima (2021) as the five FHSU players to earn the D2CCA Central Region Player of the Year honor.

Roehrich added to his strong first-season resume as a Tiger, earning a first-team nod at goalkeeper. He was the GAC/MIAA Newcomer of the Year in 2025, earning first-team all-conference honors as well. He entered the NCAA Tournament with a 0.47 goals against average, .837 save percentage, and eight individual shutouts. With the 3-0 win over Indianapolis in the NCAA Tournament Second Round, Roehrich moved to the top of the individual shutouts list for a season at FHSU, now with nine, even though he also has five combined shutouts this year as well. He owns the third-best goals against average and fifth-best save percentage in the nation going into the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

Walsh continues to add to his hefty haul of awards throughout his career at FHSU with another all-region first-team selection. He was the GAC/MIAA Midfielder of the Year in 2025, earning an all-conference first team selection for the third straight year and his fourth all-conference pick overall. He is now a three-time D2CCA All-Central Region selection. Walsh was a D2CCA All-America Second Team selection as a midfielder last year when he went into the postseason with a nation's best 15 assists. So far this year, he has 13 points with four goals and five assists.

Linares is having a big first year at Fort Hays State, landing him on the first team as a forward. He entered the NCAA Tournament with nine goals and five assists for 23 points, but added another point with an assist in FHSU's first game of the national tournament. The 24 points is now second-best among GAC/MIAA players, only behind teammate and region player of the year Elias Ovelar Semeniuk. Linares has five game-winning goals to his credit in 2025.

Tchantcheu was a force for the Tigers at defender in the regular season, starting 16 matches before suffering an injury that has sidelined him since. He was critical to the Tigers recording 13 shutouts during the regular season, helping the team to a 0.35 goals against average through the first 17 matches. He also accumulated three points with a goal and an assist, the goal being a game winner for the Tigers. Tchantcheu was also an All-GAC/MIAA First Team selection.

Carlman has been a steady producer up front for the Tigers all throughout the season, netting a second-team selection at forward. He entered the NCAA Tournament with 19 points on six goals and seven assists. He upped his goal total to seven by scoring in the 3-0 win over Indianapolis in the second round of the national tournament and now has 21 points, the fourth-most among GAC/MIAA players overall.

Street received a second-team selection as a midfielder, leading GAC/MIAA players in assists going into the national tournament with 10. He moved that total up to 12 with a pair in the 3-0 win over Indianapolis in the second round of the national tournament. He is now ranked sixth nationally in assists, mostly off of his unique skill set of throw-ins from long distances in comparison to other players.

Bensouda picked up his first all-region honor with a second-team selection in the midfield. He entered the national tournament with three assists on the year, while also providing extra defensive protection for the Tigers. He has also been critical to many shutouts for the Tigers after missing nearly a month early in the year.

Oumar Ndiaye picked up his first all-region honor as well as a second-team pick at defender. He has a unique ability in flexing the field for the Tigers, sometimes pushing forward for offensive attacks. He entered the NCAA Tournament with nine points on the season with three goals and three assists.

Wright also picked up his first all-region honor as a second-team pick at defender. He scored five goals for the Tigers in the regular season, mainly off throw-ins from Street, and was also critical in the Tigers having the top goal differential in the nation, now at +52 following their first game of the national tournament.
