RUSSELL COUNTY — One person was injured in an accident just before 6:30a.m. Monday in Russell County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Freightliner semi driven by Rogelio Rivera Samite, 45, Albuquerque, was westbound on Interstate 70 of the Kansas 232 Wilson exit. The driver fell asleep. The vehicle drifted to the shoulder struck a delineator post and overturned.
EMS transported Samite to Russel Regional Hospital. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
