WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Fort Hays State Women's Soccer defender Reilly Madden was named to the D2CCA All-Central Region Team for the 2022 season, released on Tuesday. Madden was a second-team selection at defender, chosen as one of the top eight defenders in the Central Region.
This is the first D2CCA All-Region honor for a Fort Hays State Women's Soccer player since Eden Stoddard earned a selection in 2017 at midfielder. It is also the first all-region selection overall for an FHSU women's player since 2018, when Vianei Sanchez and Cailey Perkins each earned United Soccer Coaches All-Central Region honors.
Madden was an All-MIAA First Team selection this year at defender, now a three-time all-conference selection overall. She played all 1,890 minutes of the season for Fort Hays State, going the distance in all 21 of Fort Hays State's matches. Even as a center back focused on defense the majority of the time, Madden still generated six points on the season with two goals and two assists. She helped the Tigers rank among the nation's best in Division II for goals against average and the team posted 12 shutouts and held opponents to one goal or less in 18 of 21 matches.
