INDIANAPOLIS - Fort Hays State senior Cooper Scheck has been selected to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division II Central/Midwest Super Regional as an individual, announced Sunday (April 26) by the NCAA office. Ferris State is hosting this year's super regional at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich. May 7-9.
The Dodge City, Kan. native put together an incredibly consistent senior campaign, posting a stroke average of 71.8 across 30 rounds of competition. He turned in a score at-or-under par in 17 of those 30 rounds, including seven rounds in the 60s and a low round of 66.
Scheck won the Hillcat Classic this spring after finishing tied for first at the Newman Invitational in the fall. He has five top-10 finishes in 10 events and eight finishes in the top 12.
A three-time All-MIAA selection, winner of the 2026 MIAA "A Game" Scholar Award and a 2025 CSC Academic All-American, Scheck was the top-ranked of four individuals selected out of the Central Region. A total of 108 players, 20 teams and eight individuals, will be competing for a spot in the 2026 NCAA Division II Championships, scheduled for May 18-22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev. The top four teams and the top two individuals not on those teams will make the trip to Nevada.
This will be the second-straight year Scheck competes at the regional tournament, with the senior finishing in a tie for 22nd out of 108 players last year in St. Joseph, Mo. He fired rounds of 72, 75 and 70 that week to finish the tournament at 4-over.
