HESSTON – The Hays High girls placed six in the top-10 of the Swather Special Senior 2 Mile run and placed second Thursday. The boys placed four in the top-10 and also finished in second place.
Elijah McCullough won the individual for the boys with a time of 11:47.9. Ty Dempsey finished sixth (14:02.8), Tacoma Augustine seventh (14:05.2) and Gavin Flaska 10th (14:41.1).
Taevian Maupin won the junior race with a time of 12:37.8. Malachi Chance finished fifth in the sophomore race (14:02.9) and Chris Hollis ninth (15:50.1).
Logan Leiker finished third in the freshman race (13:26.9), Brayden Staley fourth (13:45.1), Bryson Dumler sixth (14:21.2) and Aiden Hardman 10th (14:49.9)
Arely Maldonado won the senior race with a time of 14:12.4. Teammate Brynn Kinderknecht finished second (14:58.6). Julia Zadina placed fifth (15:43.7), Brenlynn Albers sixth (15:49.6), Mika Zimmerman seventh (15:56.9) and Addison Ottie ninth (16:54.8).
Aralan Maupin placed third in the sophomore race with a time of 16:22.8. Cara Cunningham finished fourth (16:37.5), Ava Biggs sixth (16:37.8) and Kynli Koeningsman seventh (16:42.0).
Jayleigh Weilert placed eighth in the freshman race with a time of 20:21.4
Salina South won the team title with 12 points. Hays was second with 15 and Liberal third with 18.
