Mark Speier passed away on the morning of July 4, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. &nbsp;He was surrounded by this daughters Alexandria and Rebecca and their mother Marilyn. Mark was able to visit with his 89-year-old mother, Rebecca Speier, days before his passing. This was especially joyful for Mark as he had not been able to see his mother face to face for over a year due to covid restrictions at her nursing home. Mark was also helped and supported through his final months by his long standing, close friend Joe Welch, whom Alexandria and Rebecca affectionately refer to as “Uncle Joe." Mark was born on November 12, 1959 to William and Rebecca Speier in Hays, Kansas. &nbsp;&nbsp;He is survived by his daughters Alexandria and Rebecca, his mother and one brother, Tim Speier. &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his father, sister Kathy Ames and brother David Speier. Mark will be remembered as a caring, loving father who was devoted to his daughters. He was a good friend to many. &nbsp;Mark loved his medical career as a registered nurse and was valued for his empathetic and compassionate care of patients. A memorial service for Mark will be held July 20, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Catholic church at 5pm for immediate family and close friends. Mark’s cremains will be cared for by his family according to his wishes.
