U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. visited Hays High School during National Future Farmers of America (FFA) week. Senator Marshall was a co-sponsor in support for the designation of Feb. 17-24 being National FFA Week.

During the visit, Senator Marshall greeted Hays High FFA, a chapter of about 50 students, and presented them a signed copy of the National FFA Proclamation and provided words of wisdom to the students as they get ready to begin the next chapter of their lives and discussed the importance of agriculture in America. FFA Students presented Senator Marshall with two sets of Hays FFA gloves as a thank you for the visit.

“As a fifth-generation farm kid, I know how hard these students work, and I’m proud to present them with a signed copy of the FFA Week Proclamation,” Senator Marshall said. “FFA is a wonderful organization that teaches students the importance of where their food comes from and leadership skills they will hold with them for the rest of their lives.”
