KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State Men's Basketball finished in a tie for fifth place in the MIAA regular season standings and will be the No. 6 seed in the MIAA Tournament next week in Kansas City at historic Municipal Auditorium. They will take on No. 3 seed Rogers State in the quarterfinals Friday night at 8:15 pm.
The top 10 teams in the final regular season standings qualified for the tournament. The No. 7-through-10 seeds play first-round games on Wednesday, then the top six seeds will open play in the quarterfinals with two games on Thursday and two more on Friday. Both semifinal games will be played on Saturday before the championship game on Sunday.
The Fort Hays State men are the defending MIAA Tournament champions after winning the 2025 edition as the No. 2 seed. FHSU finished the 2025-26 regular season at 19-9 overall with an 11-8 mark in MIAA play.
Rogers State also posted an overall record of 19-9 this season like the Tigers, but put together a 13-6 mark in MIAA play.
If the Tigers advance to the semifinals on Saturday, they will play again at 8:15 pm. against either No. 2 seed Central Missouri, No. 7 seed Missouri Southern, or No. 10 seed Northwest Missouri State. The championship game of the tournament is on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Fans can still take advantage of discounted all-session passes for the 2026 tournament by stopping by the Fort Hays State Athletics office before Wednesday (March 4) at noon. All-session passes are significantly discounted when purchased through the athletic department compared to the box office in Kansas City.
