DODGE CITY — The National Weather Service in Dodge City and Goodland has issued a winter storm watch from 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 through 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12. for most of western Kansas.
Counties included in the watch are:
Trego-Ellis-Scott-Lane-Ness-Rush-Hamilton-Kearny-Finney-Hodgeman-Pawnee-Stafford-Gray-Ford-Edwards-Kiowa-Pratt-Cheyenne-Rawlins-Decatur-Norton-Sherman-Thomas-Sheridan-Graham-Wallace-Logan-Gove-Greeley-and Wichita.
Heavy snow is possible with total accumulations between 3 and 8 inches possible. Travel could be very difficult.

The weather forecast in Hays calls for a 30% of snow Tuesday, 100% chance of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, tapering to 30 percent Wednesday evening.
Temperatures will be in the teens to low 20s.
