HAYS – One night after three pitchers combined on a no-hitter, five combine on a three-hitter to lead the Hays Larks to a 12-2 win and two-game sweep over the Denver Cougars.

The Larks (12-2, 9-1 RMBL) have won eight straight including five-straight on their current homestand.

Starter Ben Baker-Livingston (2-1) allowed one run on two hits with three strikeouts and four walks and was awarded the win. Caden Hare, Chris Echavarria, Luuk Ter-Beek and Brady Rose allow only one hit over the final four innings.

After the Cougars scored a run in the first, the Larks answered with four in the bottom of the inning. The first three runs scored via two bases-loaded walks and a hit-by-pitch with the bases-loaded.

The Larks blew the game open with a five-run fourth. Austen Jaslove drove in the first run with a single. Tyler LaRue added a run-scoring double and Cade Brown a two-run single.

Jaslove and LaRue both had two of the Larks eight hits and both drove in two runs. Cade Brown finished with three RBIs.

The Larks close out their six-game homestand Tuesday with a non-league game against the Kansas Cannons. Admission is free courtesy Astra Bank, Hilton Garden Inn and Convention Center and Brick’s Rockin’ BBQ.
