Ellis County (3 down, 5 right from northwest corner), along with most of Kansas, has returned to abnormally dry conditions according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.

Western Kansas is at an elevated fire weather risk Saturday afternoon as determined by the National Weather Service in Dodge City. Relative humidity will fall to as low as 20 percent and north winds will gust up to 30 mph.

The three-day weather forecast calls for dry conditions and warmer temperatures.
