
Michael G. Cavenee, 67, of Atwood, died Thursday, February 11, 2021. He
was born November 9, 1953, in Scott City, KS, to Gordon and Sandra
(Notestine) Cavenee. Michael graduated from Greeley County High School
in 1971 and attended Goodland Vo-Tech. He served in the United States
Army for two years and then worked as a licensed electrician for a
couple of years after. Michael then managed the Goodland Airport and
worked at Air Midwest in Evansville, Indiana. The remainder of his
professional career was carried out as a Train Engineer (His true
passion), finishing up as an Amtrack Engineer the last 5 years of his
career. On May 5, 1979, Michael married Kim Fritsch and to this union
two children were born. In his younger years Michael enjoyed water
skiing and snow skiing. He also enjoyed working on cars and machinery.

Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.”
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, sister Meredith Johnson and brother-in-law Steve Graber.
He is survived by his children, Amber (Jonathan) Timm, of Atwood and
Brandon (Tasha) Cavenee, of Atwood; wife Katherine Woodward; brother
Mark (Nancy) Cavenee, of Tribune; sisters, Michelle (Tom) Ballah, of
Leoti, KS, Mellanie Graber, of Manhattan, KS and Marci (Dennis)
Hillhouse, of Shawnee Mission, KS and 6 grandchildren, Kennedy and Mason
Timm and Shay, Kendall, Merrick and Bristol Cavenee.
