Randal 'Randy' Wayne Conrad

Randal “Randy” Wayne Conrad, 72, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, at Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell, Kansas.

Randy was born February 28, 1950, in Concordia, Kansas, to Auldin and Marion (Wineland) Conrad. He grew up and worked on the family farm near Alton, Kansas and was a 1968 graduate of Natoma High School. He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering Degree at Kansas State University. Shortly thereafter, he obtained his small-aircraft pilot’s license.

Randy worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Ditch Witch in Perry, Oklahoma before moving back with his own family to assist his parents on the farm. He farmed full-time for over 30 years. In more recent years you could be sure to see his beloved sidekick, Frasier, with him.

He was passionate about antique cars, motorcycles and racing. He was a member of the KAR (Kansas Antique Racers) group and was a regular as a participant and spectator at the races. Randy enjoyed spending time with his special friend, Sandy and her family, going to the races, mowing, or simply working on the many vehicle projects he had on-going. He will be greatly missed by his family, racing family, and his close friends in and around the community.

Survivors include his special friend, Sandy Hudson of Osborne; daughter Laura Conrad (Lounis) of Fontenay sous Bois, France; daughter Katie Yusuf (Arman) of Seattle, Washington; son Jacob Conrad (Laurel) of Olathe, Kansas; brother William (Bill) Conrad of Alton; grandchildren Jacob, Gabriel, Hazel; nieces Tammy Lutz (Ken) and Tori Dinkel (Darian); great-nieces and nephews Bailey, Bethany, Braxton, Blake, Aiden and Isaac.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents.
