⚾ Former Indian Lummus ends summer season as MVP

WICHITA - Former Hays High baseball standout Brock Lummus wrapped up a stellar summer season in a big way. A member of the Kansas Collegiate League Baseball's El Dorado Walnuts, Lummus was named the leagues Most Valuable Player then was named the MVP of the Summerball Showdown, a 24-team end of the year non-professional tournament.

Because of an injury, Lummus caught seven games in five days and helped the Walnuts to the tournament title.

Lummus ranked high in multiple categories for the Walnuts this season including batting average and home runs. He was the league leader in RBIs and doubles.

Lummus has played the last three seasons at Butler Community College. He will play at Division I Western Illinois this upcoming season.

Lummus is a 2020 graduate of Hays High School.
