Debra Lee (Auker) Tavis went home to the Lord joining her mama and
daddy, Ivan LeRoy and Marian Lydia (James) Auker. Deb passed in the
early morning of January 31, 2021 at her home due to complications of
heart failure, she was 65.
Debba, as she was known to those close to her, was born in Denver,
Colorado on July 14, 1955. She attended schools in Westminster and
Lakewood and graduated in 1973 from Jefferson High School in Edgewater,
Colorado. She moved to her ancestral hometown of Norcatur, Kansas in the
mid 1990’s. She proudly became a journeyman electrician and traveled
the United States alongside her husband Scott for their trade and making
many memories. Debra and Scott were married on June 26, 1999 in
Bowling Green, KY. She loved listening to country music, especially
Travis Tritt. Deb loved to grow flowers, go fishing and she loved her K9
companions, Pepper and Bella. More recently, she enjoyed riding her
golf cart around town taking pictures, fulfilling her love of
photography, with Bella always by her side. She was a loving wife,
mother, and grandmother.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Marian. She is
survived by her husband, Scott Tavis; son, JL Myers; daughter, Carly
Myers; stepson, Derek Tavis; brothers, Patrick Auker and wife Kelly and
Ted Auker and wife Colleen; sister, Stella Hawkins and her beloved
grandchildren, Dominick and Madison Tavis.
