Irvin R. Schaffer, 70, of Mountain Home passed away on Friday, November
27, 2020. He was born on June 30, 1950, the last son of eleven
children, born to Vincent R. and Olinda Schaffer in Hays, Kansas.
Irvin
married Melanie Bisterfieldt on May 13, 1972. He worked at Travenal
Baxter Labs which is what later brought home to the Mountain Home area.
He retired from Baxter Lab in 2002. He loved the outdoors and was an
avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his two children,
Krista (John) Stopka and Nathan Schaffer; three granddaughters: Ashlee
Papineau, Amberly Schaffer, and Miranda Stopka all of Mountain Home;
brothers: Paul Schaffer (Carole), Joseph Schaffer (Wilma), Kenneth
Schaffer (Linda), Charles Schaffer (Karolyn); sisters: Virginia
Drieling, Gladys Haugaard, Mary Gariepy (Kirk) and many nieces, nephews
and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melanie who
recently passed away on Sept. 28th, 2020; by both of his parents; and by
his three brothers: Virgil, Jerry, and Dennis.
Due to Covid 19,
there will be no services at this time. A private service for family
members only will be held at a later date.
