KANSAS CITY, Mo. ā University of Nebraska Kearney senior Emilee Lane was named the Athletic Solutions āA Gameā Scholar-Athlete of the 2025 MIAA Volleyball Championship.
The top eight teams from the regular season advanced to the Associationās postseason championship tournament. Among the many NCAA Division II volleyball student-athletes competing in the championship, Nebraska Kearneyās Lane was named the championshipās āA Gameā Scholar-Athlete.
Established by the MIAA in 2022, āA Gameā Scholar-Athlete Award presented by Athletic Solutions acknowledges the overall excellence of a student-athlete by recognizing one individual who has contributed to their teamās success while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. The student-athlete honored with the āA Gameā Scholar-Athlete Award must be an active member of a qualifying team and must have a minimum of two terms completed at the institution.
Lane is a senior outside hitter from Hays, Kan., on the Lopers volleyball team. Sheās a Sports and Rec Management major with a 4.0 grade point average and 109 credits completed.
On the court, Lane helped the Lopers to a share of the 2025 regular season championship and the top seed in the postseason tournament. Lane was named a First Team All-MIAA selection after ranking in the leagueās top five kills per set (3.43) and points per set (3.68).
Lane is the third Loper volleyball player to be honored with the āA Gameā Scholar-Athlete award of the Associationās volleyball championship and the ninth Loper to earn the honor overall. The MIAA will present Lane with the āA Gameā Scholar-Athlete award before Nebraska Kearneyās quarterfinal match of the 2025 MIAA Volleyball Championship.
