Brenda Slaughter, age 62, of Ellis, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. She was born March 7, 1958 in Hays, Kansas to Fred E. and Audrey E. Slaughter. Brenda graduated from Ellis High School in 1976 and earned a Master's Degree from Fort Hays State University.
Brenda was a caregiver and a member of the Ellis United Methodist Church, the Prairie Garden Club and the Ellis VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her significant other, Burl Sheldon; a brother, Dean Slaughter and wife Sandi of Ellis; two sisters, Cara Slaughter of Hays and Alane Slaughter of Beloit; nephews and niece, Jeremy, John, Jasmine and Michael as well as great nephews and niece, Lane, Audrey, Sean and Luca.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the Ellis United Methodist Church. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorial visitation will be Tuesday 10:00 AM until service time.
