🤼‍♀️ Sarah Zimmerman KWCA Wrestler of the Year; Hoxie duo honored

Sarah Zimmerman went 31-1 this past season and won her first state title at the 6-5A State tournament. Now the Hays High Indian has a new title to add to the list. 

The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association has named Zimmerman one of two KWCA 6-5A Girls Senior Wrestlers of the Year. 

Zimmerman, a four time state placer and two time runner-up, recently signed with Simpson College to continue her wrestling career.

Hannah Jackson of Leavenworth also received the honor.

Hoxie's Derek Johnson was named 3-2-1A Boys Senior Wrestler of the Year. Hoxie head coach Mike Porsche is the Coach of the Year.

Johnson is a four time station champion and Hoxie set the state record for most team points in a state tournament. Johnson will continue his career at St. Cloud State.
