⛳ Hill City finishes second, TMP-Marian sixth at 2A state

HESSTON - The TMP-Marian boys golf teams lowered their first round score by 16 shots Tuesday at the 2A state tournament at the Hesston Golf Course but the Monarchs didn't move up the leaderboard. They finished in sixth place, the same spot they were in after Monday's opening round of 358. The Monarchs shot a 342 in their final round.

Hill City shot a 326 Tuesday, 11 strokes higher than Monday and finished second place, 44 behind Sacred Heart who won their seventh straight state title after a 2-day total of 597.

Hill City senior Cooper Bagley shot a 76 in the final round and finished in fourth place with a two-day total of 153, 14 shots behind Sacred Heart's Michael Matteucci who won the individual title. The Ringnecks Noah Fry finished ninth with a  159.

TMP-Marian's Pake Dewey shots a 75 in his final round and finished in 11th at 18-over-par. Fellow Monarch Landon Rozean closed with an 82 and tied for 23rd at 167.

Austin Carroll of Ellis fired a 78 Tuesday and tied for 12th at 19-over.
