Alfreda Louise Barry, 88, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas.
Alfreda was born April 29, 1933, in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Alfred Lewis and Ruby Emma (Stacy) Obenhaus. She was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. A 1952 graduate of La Crosse High School, La Crosse, Kansas, she worked in the housekeeping department of Green Acres Motel, La Crosse, Kansas, many years before her retirement.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, La Crosse, Kansas.
She married Lonny B. Barry at the EUB Church, La Crosse, Kansas. He preceded her in death May 7, 1970.
Survivors include: one daughter, Christy Barry (Debbie Carrasco), Hays, Kansas; two sons, Larry Barry (Brian Corn), Wichita, Kansas, and Ronald Barry, Independence, Missouri; two grandchildren, Shanna Aumiller and Kara Shanks; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Alvin Obenhaus, and Alfred Russell Obenhaus; a twin sister, Alberta Obenhaus; and two sisters, Letha Busch, and Jeannine Schmidt.
Graveside service will be Monday, August 30, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas, with Pastor Tom Ferch officiating. Interment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to Christy Barry to assist with expenses.
