Phyllis Joan Herrman

Phyllis Joan Herrman, 88, passed away Saturday June 26, 2021, at Country Living of Larned. She was born June 28, 1932, in Great Bend, to Nelson & Helen (DuBois) Stone. She married Hilbert Herrman August 16, 1952, at Great Bend. He died December 14, 2013.

 A lifetime Great Bend resident, Phyllis was the State of Kansas Meat Inspector. She had also worked for Great Bend Packing in Quality Control and performed clerical duties. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Altar Society. Phyllis loved shopping and was known for sending everyone she knew a card for special occasions or “just because”. She enjoyed Community concerts, gardening and was an excellent cook, and taking care of people and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include, three sons, Mark Herrman and wife Ginger, and Tim Herrman and wife Chris, all of Great Bend, and Scott Herrman and wife Bobbie of VA; four daughters, Karen Bruno of West Liberty, IA, Stacie Kozlowski and husband Bruce of Larned, Trina Detherage and husband Brad of Great Bend, and Lori Hoffman and husband Steve of Columbia, MO; brother James Nelson Stone, Jr of Great Bend; twenty grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hilbert Herrman; and a brother, Shelby Stone, Sr.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday June 28, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family present to greet friend’s 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 29, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Father Don Bedore presiding. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. Memorials have been designated to Alzheimer’s Association, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
