LARNED – Beloit scored in five of six innings and held TMP/LaCrosse to just one run Monday on their way to the 7-1 win in the opening round of the Larned 3A Regional tournament.
The Monarchs threatened to put up a big inning right of the gate, but were unable to take advantage of a bases loaded top half of the first inning.
Beloit wasted little time getting their offense going in the bottom of the inning. The Trojans scored a pair of runs after loading the bases to go up 2-0.
The Trojans added one more in the second inning and took a 3-0 lead into the fourth inning.
In the top half of the fourth TMP got the lead off hitter on and Alexa Reyersee drove in the Monarchs’ first run on a sacrifice fly making it 3-1.
Beloit got the run back and added some insurance. They scored two in the fourth and added since runs in the fifth and sixth on their way to the 7-1 win.
TMP’s Madison Augustine allowed seven runs, six earned on 11 hits in six innings and took the loss.
Kyleigh Allen and Jessica Herrman each collected a pair of hits in the loss.
TMP-Marian finished the year 10-11.
