Dian Lorene Jennings

Dian Lorene Jennings passed away November 8, 2021, at Redbud Village in Plainville, KS at the age of 86. Dian was born on June 23, 1935, in Codell, Kansas to Robert & Serena Languein.

Dian graduated from Codell Rural High School in 1953. She married Darold Jennings on November 26, 1954, at the Codell Baptist Church. To this union two children were born, one daughter and one son.

Dian was a homemaker and lived her entire married life in the country along the Saline River near Turkville. She was always there for her family and friends. She loved to knit and bake and was very skilled at both. She enjoyed all family gatherings, but especially enjoyed celebrating family birthdays and Christmas. She was a very kind person and a caregiver her entire life, taking care of her husband and family members in addition to the numerous family pets.

Dian was a member of Saline Homemakers FCE club in Ellis County for 55+ years. Dian was a breast cancer survivor and participated for many years in the Ellis County Cancer “Day of Care” fashion shows in Hays.

Dian is survived by daughter, Debra Eaves, Wichita; son Doug Jennings & wife Brenda, Plainville; granddaughters Bobie Jennings, Hays and Gretchen Jennings, Selden; and one great-granddaughter, Kadalen Dian Unrein of Selden; sister-in-law Mazie White, Riverton, Utah; brother-in-law Joseph Dooley II, Bonner Springs, KS, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Serena Languein; husband, Darold Jennings; brother, Gordon Languein; sister, Darlene Kavanaugh; in-laws Buck & Pauline Jennings; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Languein & Fontella Dooley; and brothers-in-law, Kim White & Arch Kavanaugh.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, November 12, 2021, at the funeral home in Plainville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 2PM until 8PM at the funeral home.
