Statewide Silver Alert canceled: Missing NW Kansas man is safe

SHERIDAN COUNTY – The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office reported to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) that 88-year-old Duane E. Wente was located and is now safe.

The Silver Alert is canceled.

SHERIDAN COUNTY – The Sheridan County Sheriff’s office requested the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) issue a statewide Silver Alert for a missing Sheridan County man , according to a media release from the agency.

The whereabouts of 88-year-old Duane E. Wente are unknown and the public’s assistance is requested to help locate him.

Wente was last seen on March 10, around 3 a.m. He is driving a gold 2011 Chrysler Town and Country bearing Kansas tag ANN37, traveling in an unknown direction.

Wente is a white male who is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He is possibly wearing glasses, blue jeans, a brown plaid shirt, and a gray windbreaker. Wente has dementia.
